The Chattooga River is a great getaway in the 'Golden Corner' of South Carolina, and thanks to the stocking efforts of the SCDNR, it's also a great place to catch some trout.

The Burrell's Ford area has great parking and camping spots so access to the river is easy. A rugged trail runs up and down both banks of the river, with many spots cleared of brush for easy angling.

Corn fished on the bottom is catching some stockers, and other good baits are Berkley Power Worms and Pautzke Salmon Eggs. The more adventurous anglers are hiking several miles upriver of the Burrell's Ford Bridge and catching brook trout on Roostertails and Mepps spinners.
