  • Santee-Cooper Bass on Fire

There isn't a better time than right now to put some lunkers in your boat on the Santee Cooper lakes.

Last weekend's CATT tournament out of Black's Camp saw two bags of fish that weighed over 30 pounds. Three fish over 9 pounds were weighed, and 4 fish over 8 pounds also came to the scales.

Even with those numbers, Capt. Jim Glenn says the fishing has slowed down from earlier in the month. Brett Collins from CATT agrees, and he bases that on the March 3 CATT tournament results, when 6 teams weighed in over 30 pounds!

Still, the fishing is hot, and bass are biting soft plastics and top-water baits near vegetation and around cypress trees.
