These are the 3 biggest I caught on March 1st 2012. I landed several 4 & 5 lbers throughout the day. 7lb 9 oz on a blue/black jig at a farm pond, 8lb 5oz at the same pond on a dark brown bomber 2a crankbait, and a 10lb 2oz at a municipal lake on a watermelon/cahrt jig. All were released back.

    Thanks for the welcome.
Great site. As far as releasing them, my 10 yr old son is a avid hunter and fisher.Last year he got his first buzz bait bass (5lb 8oz)and his first muzzle load buck (10 pt). At sometime, someone let that fish go and let that buck walk. My daughter, who is 13 now, caught a 9lb 4oz bass when she was 7. Again, someone left that fish there. I suppose if I catch something 11 or 12 lbs, I will get all the measurements and get a reproductiuon of it. That's about as cheap as a normal mount and the fish may get to excite a kid later. May be cheezy but it's what I believe.

There is definitely nothing cheesy about catch and release. If that is what you believe then that is what you should do. A lot of sportsman get more out of seeing someone else reaction to a successful fishing trip or hunt than they do themselves. Especially when we talk about youngsters and the way their eyes light up when things happen...You just can't beat that. I have a 3.5 year old son and I know when He bags his first turkey or shoots his first deer my emotions will definitely be in high gear and probably get the best of me... Passing up deer and throwing fish back are great ways of ensuring that hunters and fishermen of the future have something to enjoy... Thanks again for sharing!!
