I caught my first big bass yesterday on Lake Brandt in Greensboro. She weighed in officially at 6.25 lbs, 21' long, and 16' girth. I'm still feeling high as a kite from it.

    First Bass
Nice catch for your first bass Hank. The first one I ever had mounted was 6.25 lbs. Not only did I mount it but, I ate it too. My cousin gave me the meat.

Hope your continued success is as good as mine was. I started out with the 6.25 mount the one in the middle and the last one I mounted was 10.27. (top left) however the biggest on the wall 10.3 (top right) belongs to my son!

I don't know if I'll ever break that 10.27 mark again but, I hope you do. Good luck, congrates and thanks for sharing!

It seems like once you break the ice on a big one they just keep coming and getting bigger!

Thanks everybody. I ended up releasing the fish in a nearby pond the same day I caught her. Since I have measurements, could I have a replica mount made? If so, does anyone know how much that sort of thing cost?

    Replica
Yep, you can get a replica made. My cousin is a taxidermist whom mounted all my fish in the other picture. Here's a picture of a replica 'California Steelhead' I caught when I was 26 or so. I had a picture and the measurements so he did this one for me a couple of years ago. It was 16 pounds and 34 inches long!

I think the bass replica will cost 150.00+ or so.
