This happened on the last week of deer season. It had gotten dark so I climbed down out of my stand and was heading back to the truck. I could see my truck off in the distance and a deer about 30 yards to the right of it. I thought well this is perfect I will shoot that deer and just throw it in the back of my truck and be on my way. I thought to myself itís probably a little too dark to shoot but I thought ďI will bend the rules just this one time I know tons of people that do itĒ. I lined the deer up in the cross hairs and BOOM!!!! After opening my eyes I realized I was laying flat on my back and looking up at the sky and my face REALLY REALLY REALLY hurt. So I stumbled back to my truck to clean myself up and look for the driver of the truck that just ran over me. I had a bloody nose and a nasty cut you can see in the pic and the next day two black eyes. The lesson I learned was donít do stupid things if the rules say something then thatís what you should follow. I hope everyone got a good kick out of this and remember if you break the rules God will strike you down. Also it was a clean miss Im sure the deer is still laughing and telling all his buddies about the jack leg that shot at him and knocked himself out.

GT-I tried not to tell anybody at work but all the old guys knew what happened and blew my cover. They all shared with me when they received there badge of honor or did something equally dumb to make me feel better. I put it in my memo pad under things not to do. Right under dont hold your arm to close to your bow string.

Yeah LOL, It's Not hard to do especially in Low-light...Looks like your a Left handed Shooter?...Mine is on the same side LOL...I was shocked when I got back to the house and seen how wide the Gash was..Really needed stitches everyone said but I was in Rambo Mode plus 20 miles from the nearest town. Imagine the Look on their faces when I opened the door covered in Blood with my Big Knife on my side exhausted and Said...'I Got 1!!!' LOL.....Priceless!!!

I have feft your pain. Many moons ago,i was siting in a climbing stand.the kind u face the tree, watching a 3 year cutover.I was about 40 foot up a pine so i could look down into the cutover.Just before dark,i heard a deer walking in the thickit behind me .I turn around and i could see he was a good buck.I didn't have but 1 open 2 take him and it was right behind me about 25 yards. At the time i was hunting with a 7mm mag.I had 2 turn all the way around, lean over the back.At the crack of the 7 i thought someone hit me in the head with a hammer.Well i belive i bleeded more than the buck did.Time i made it to the ground it was dark for i had 2 keep stoping 2 wipe the blood out of my eyes.My buddy went back with me the next day to get my stand and find my buck. The stand was cover in blood. My friend wanted 2 know which blood trail do we follow. LOL.The buck went about 40yds.

    Scope Kissed
I hope everyone gets scope kissed at least once.....lol! Thanks for the laugh.
About four years ago I was walking through a swamp with my clinber on my back.......35 cal in hand and hear dogs off in the distance. The next thing I know I have 3 deer running through the swamp right at me. I couldn't get the stock up on my shoulder because of the climber so I rolled the gun over.....put my eye to the scope.....the deer was 20 yards from me. I pulled the trigger and all I saw was stars. When my vision cleared and I got the blood stopped. I found that I must have hit the deer because there was hair on the water. Sure enough....tracked the deer and it was dead. Ended up with a cut and broken nose! Anything for backstraps!
