    Big Bass were the theme this week at Saluda Lake Landing. Most of the Bass taken this week were over 3.5 Lbs. and some as big as 7 Lbs.
    With water temps dipping into the 40s , slower presentations and smaller baits were essential to big bass success.
    Saluda Lake is slightly different the most impoundments in the state due to its size and narrow footprint. Amazingly, some of the larger fish were still taken shallow in the 3-4 Ft. range on thick brush using Flipping and Pitching techniques. With the heavy rain and the ongoing dredging project on the lake, the water has been quite stained and in some areas downright muddy.
    The lake often fishes more like a river than a lake.
    The rule of thumb this time of year is simple;
    Be Slow, Be Small and when it comes to color, Be Seen.
