  • Canada Geese

Deer season ends on January 1st, and a lot of outdoorsmen will put away their firearms and long for the fall of 2012. Don't be one of those! There is still plenty to do in the outdoors once deer season ends. Waterfowl season is in full swing, and the Canada goose season has more than a full month left.

It's not that difficult to find good hunting spots for Canada geese, and you can often hunt them without a boat or even a pair of waders. Harvested farm fields are great locations to whack some Canadas, and most farmers are more than happy to have responsible outdoorsmen help control the goose population.

Private ponds throughout the state are also good spots for hunting geese. They are a nuisance to pond owners, leaving shorelines littered with feces in large quantities.

If you're having trouble locating geese or getting access to them, you can't go wrong by booking a trip with the Wrecking Crew Guide Service
Team member and champion caller Blake Hodge often makes posts about their hunting trips here in this forum. They can put you on waterfowl in a variety of settings.

Goose hunting in the late season is prohibited in all of Clarendon County and parts of Berkley County. Check the SCDNR booklet for full details.
