  • Deer not eating corn

I need some help? I have been feeding deer since before Bow season and had lots of deer, bucks and does, come to my corn. Now all of a sudden they have stop eating the corn and Im not getting any pics of deer. Can any body give a reason behind this? I do have lots of acorns around but they have been eating the corn along with the acorns. Opening day there was a coyote shot close by, but I didnt know that would stop the deer from eating.

    Same Here
No rhyme or reason but it's the same here. I have 150 pounds of corn on the ground in 3 places and it hasn't been touched in 3 weeks. This has happened in the past but around the end of November they should go back to it, especially when it gets cold!

    Corn
For whatever reason I have some strange deer where I hunt. I couldn't get them on camera to save my life until mid October. I put out a 2 bags of corn about 2 weeks apart and then election time hit and I had to neglect the whole operation. After my last bag went out, 3-4 weeks ago now they have been coming by and just destrying the area on a nightly basis. So now that elections are over (I won) I am back at it. Jumped a few walking to my stand the other afternoon but couldn't get a clean shot. I hunt with my bow year round. They are hitting the corn hard when I put it out though. I don't know what their deal is. I have about an 8' hole in the ground now from the last place I put any out and there are still pieces from a food block I put out 6 weeks ago.

I am going to go drop about 30 lbs tonight and then another 40 on Sunday or Monday night in hopes of a good hunt Saturday, Tues, Wed, and if I can get away from the family Thursday.

Either way, they are killing the corn in my neck of the woods.

I think the deer are off your corn because they're breeding. I had a young 9pt push a doe up on a ridge and bed down with her this morning. Haven't been seeing many deer feeding, mostly fawns and button bucks. Should change in a week or so, and they'll go back to the corn, or whatever food source is available

    That time of year
I agree with timberghost...i thnk it has alot to do with the rut....the during ml season I was seeing a good number of deer on food plots and corn but now im not....i thnk its the rut combined wth warm temps and a earlier full moon this year thats changed things...just let it turn cold and it should pick up.

    No Corn
All my deer have stopped coming to the corn pile too. Only a few young deer is coming in right now. I think they have said the heck with the corn and acorns and now they are interested in finding a date. Girlfriend season my friend.

    Corn?
Hey Guys, Same here, I checked mine today and while walking toward camera at 11am I see 3 does and when I get closer the Corn looks like it hasn't been touched but I had 57 Pictures...Looks like they are eating a bit here and there while walking through...Also, I Bowhunted today where the land-owner doesn't like Guns and most all my Corn was still there so I hunted anyway and had 3 come by and eat maybe 1 minute and off they went, Must have been a Lesbian Doe or a Knot-head because 1 was trying his best to mount the other 1 and I seen NOTHING on its head?...Seems like this did happen to me last year as well come to think of it.
