  • Fall Pond Hopping

Fall is a great time to do a little pond hopping for largemouth bass. It seems this time of year they will bite anything at some point during the day, and the good thing about fishing in a pond is the fish are more concentrated. This gives anglers a better chance at catching more fish.

Brooke Knotts likes to fish Mr. Larry Kirven's farm ponds in Sumter County, and had some good luck catching several on a Rebel Pop-R recently. She also caught a few on soft plastics--mainly a 4' Jackall Sasuteki Craw.

Knotts says she has been having success throwing the soft plastics tight to riprap, and has had the most success with the Pop-R by throwing it in shallow water near weedlines.
