  • Labor Day Dove Shoot

A lot of shooting was heard around the midlands as fields were covered up with dove hunters on Labor Day.

During a hunt in Rembert, quite a few mourning doves were harvested, but they weren't the only doves getting the attention of hunters. The larger, less-common ringneck doves made a few appearances to the delight of shooters.

A number of Canada geese were also spotted during this hunt, reminding outdoorsmen that the early Canada goose season is in. If you decide to hunt doves and geese together, just make sure you have your waterfowl permit and the correct size and type of shot for the geese!
