100 yard shot

First off I wouldn't attempt a 100 yard shot on a deer. There are too many factors and the biggest is the cross wind. I adjusted my second shot because the first missed by inches because of cross winds. The neat thing is as Inferno4me witnessed and I, is 100 yards down range you don't hear anything but thump when the arrow hits the target and you're standing at the impact site. Deer won't know it's coming.
The ballistics on my set up with the arrows I'm shooting, retains 51.6 lbs of kinetic energy at 100 yards. Legal draw weight for hunting whitetail is 35 pounds. At 100 yards my bow is stronger by 16.6 pounds than a 35 pound draw at point blank range, more than enough for a pass through.
Ethical hunting is different for every hunter. Practice, practice, practice and research and then practice again so you know your limits. What I have done I feel anyone with the right equipment and knowledge of that equipment, can do this too!
