  • Pond Bassin'

During the summer heat, there's no better place to catch largemouth bass than in a pond that's fed by an Artesian well. Camryn Watford did just that earlier today when he visited Mr. Larry Kirven's farm pond in Sumter.

The well water enters the pond from a pipe about 5 feet above the surface, allowing the cold water to flow in while also providing more oxygen to the pond. Camryn focused on this area of the pond for bream early on his trip, but switched over to bass fishing after catching a small bass on a cricket.

His prize fish of the day was a 4-pound bass that hit a double-blade Booyah spinnerbait, and he landed it like he's seen the pros on TV do it. And since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'll turn it over to a few of them to tell the story....
