The past Saturday the crew of the Lil Bit, owned and captained by Pete Loy,enjoyed a successful day of fishing in preparation for the upcoming Bohicket Governor's Cup Tournament. Although there were reports of dolphin at 130 feet of water, we were in search of billfish and bluewater. We caught a gaffer bull early to get things started followed by a respectable cow both boated by our younger crew members. The billfish remained elusive and the action fairly quiet until just before lines out. From the bridge we spotted a sunfish and headed towards him. As we passed, a small cow feeding alongside him made a B line for the left short, quickly followed by another strike on the left long. Coy, the mate, was quick on the short drop back and Glenn made a quick grab on the long rod. The short rod was handed off to Jeff Dennis who boated the cow and Glenn landed the second gaffer bull for the day. We ended on the high note and enjoyed a smooth ride over to Bohicket Marina!
