  • Lake Wateree Bass Report

The largemouth bass fishing on Lake Wateree has been hot for the past few weeks. The rain this week will cool things off a bit, but don't expect it to take long for things to heat back up.

While directing the latest C.A.T.T. tournament on Wateree last weekend, Brett Collins killed a little bit of time before the weigh-in by going out to look for bass on his own. He caught two bass within 5 minutes of each other--and both of them weighed over 5 pounds.

Jigs, rattle baits, shallow crankbait, and soft plastics are all working well right now. Fish closse to structure and in the shallows where Dearal Rodgers says many of the prespawn females are hanging around.
