As dawn broke on Thanksgiving morning it was still quite mild and warm, but a traditional dove hunt was motivation enough for six youth wingshooters to get into the dove field. Cloudy skies delayed shooting light and some doves infiltrated the field in the near dark. After that, very few birds flew or offered a good shot for the hunters and no birds were taken. However, everyone had a good time in the outdoors and important lessons were learned about what one must do during the hunt. We'll get 'em next year!
