Mike Spinks of Sumter harvested a buck from the town of Borden earlier this week. The 11-pointer was chasing a doe when Spinks spotted it from a stand overlooking a field full of broomsedge. The buck was traveling with a smaller one that Spinks said will be a shooter in about 2 years.

Using his Savage model 110 30-06, Spinks dropped the deer with a 150-grain Core-Lokt, which made tracking a breeze. Spinks found the 175-lb deer less than 30 yards from the point of impact.

This wasn't the first 11-pointer Spinks has scored in Borden. He killed another one about 5 years ago just a few hundred yards away.

Plenty of rack on that one. I wonder if it was kin with the other 11-point from five years ago. Any similarities to their racks?

Not much similarity at all. Mr. Spinks said from the way their racks look, they might be 4th cousins, thrice removed, but he saw no way they were any closer.
