Have yet to see a shooter buck and does are not coming in close enough. Have about six different spikes, which makes me wonder why there are no big bucks around. Every time I hunt and check the cam all does and spikes. Maybe its time to move stands. I can only hunt till Nov. 8th. Suggestions?

    Young Bucks
The younger bucks tend to hang around together because the big bucks will kick there butts. You say the does are always too far off....well wherever they are....that's where the big boys will show up. I practice multiple stand locations so I can work the winds. Good luck and like GT says....hang in there!

    Don't give up yet
Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in this situation. I too have not had the opportunity to see a real shooter buck yet. I do have one nice pic of a big old buck and I have been hunting him very little. I only got one pic and decided that, that was all I needed to know he was there. The good part is that pre rut starts Oct. 24 according to a chart I have. Activity is supposed to be pretty high when it comes. If you have another stand location hunt it for a little bit and then slip back in there around that time and see what you get. Good luck with it.

    frustrated
No one can help you with that frustrated feeling, but maybe it will pass as you spend more time in the outdoors pursuing your passion of deer hunting. Shooter bucks come when they come, and there is little we can do to speed up that process other than what you are doing - hunt and be ready.

    Shooter
I remember a couple years ago I hunted my stand and saw the same deer day after day after day etc. It was to the point of getting old really, but it was the only place I had to hunt so I kept at it. Well finally on October 31 a shooter showed up sent checking for the does I had been watching all season and he hit the dirt. It is too early in the season to get too upset you havent seen a shooter. Like Viper said, they become loners this time of year. Hunt smart, sent free, and be patient, with a little luck you will get your chance.

    Hey again BBgun
Man, Like the other posters have stated...i have been sitting the same 2 stands and seeing the same deer, every now and again a new buck shows up so today i hunted a stand for the first time all season and seen 4 deer and 3 were small bucks with the biggest being a 13 inch wide 6...I know they are some decent deer in this block of timber so i let'em all walk away...Will I ever see them again????Not sure but i will be there to find out....Good luck once again
