Do any of you know what the best climbing stand for bowhunting might be? I just ordered a summit open shot but it looks small but it is very light weight!

    Buckshot...Bigshot
I use a Bigshot and love it, quiet, sturdy and fairly big platform 20X30...Its all Aluminum and has a adjustable backrest for any position imaginable...Once you get to your desired height , it has rope ratchets that you put around arms and pull tight...I purchased a separate top piece for bowhunting when they came out with the hotshot because it has a open front...I just sold 2 Vipers at a yard-sale for $125 each that were used 1 time each...i had them on the classifieds here about all year. They are a small stand but then when you weigh 237lbs...any climber can get tight....I wouldn't take nothing for my old portaclimb Cadillac that faces the tree though, i put a boat seat on it and i can sit all day in that thing...strap my fanny-pak around the tree with some snacks and calls and i can easily make a day out of it...I have even Bowhunted out of it by shooting off the side....Good luck

    Lone Wolf
Lone Wolf is the best stand I've ever used. Quiet, light, and very easy to set up. A bit pricey but well worth it.

    Summit Viperx4
It seems like I've seen that name before....Viperx4. That because the year I bought my Summit Viperx4....which it was called in 2004. Now it's the Viper SS or something like that but, I love it. I like the fact that it has a front rail which is great for gun season but, I tend to keep the bottom up close to the top during bow so I can shoot over the front rail. Have to say that you can take the best naps in that thing....hope the deer don't hear me snoring!

    Openshot
I bought the Summmit Openshot this summer. I like it, I have been practicing climbing with it. You'll like how lightweight it is and it is kinda on the small side but it is plenty of room for me to shoot my bow and I am 6ft tall and weigh around 190lbs.
