This was on my game camera when I checked it this past Saturday. I've never came in contact with coyotes, so I'm not sure if this is one or its just a neighbors dog. If you have an opinion please share.

It's tought to tell, but the profile looks like it could be a coyote. They are getting mroe common in NC.

I'm guessing coyote. probably 80 percent sure. Son busted one this fall with .243 that was very, very black... almost looked like a german shepherd but body wasn't quite shaped the same. Don't know how to describe it, but you knew looking at it wasn't a dog.

WHEN YOU START SEEING BABY RABBITS, OR TURKEYS START LAYING EGGS, YOU SHOULD TRY HUNTING THAT AREA, COYOTES HUNT SMALL GAME WE HAVE SEEN THEM TRING TO CATCH YOUNG TURKEYS,RABBITS, THEY ARE SEASONAL IF THAT MAKES SENCE

    Sorry for the delay
I am in school at NC State and it's the end of the semester. This is a farm that I hunt in Zebulon, right near the Mudcats stadium. I have a 17 HMR and a .243 that I hope to take him with. I want to get him out of there before deer season comes around. Do electronic calls work? Any other suggestions for baiting this little guy up? Thanks for the responses guys.

Man i got one of the johnny stewart calls. Just the cheap 44 dollar one from bass pro shop, I have called in and killed coyotes and a bobcat with it. They all came in with in just a couple of minutes, and i was using the cotton tail distress everytime.

yes that is a cyote and they are in all 100 counties on nc and have been for many years you just havenít seen them. But they are there. If you have 1 it had to come from somewhere so that means there is a male and female and he has brothers and sisters and the parents of it are somewhere too. You canít get rid of then but you can control them. They are seasonal you should use a fawn in distress call when fawns are dropping and a cotton tail call works any time. In nc coyotes normally stay in the edge of the woods which makes it hard for you to kill because they see you before you see them. They are fun to hunt but hard to hunt. They donít stand still very long so getting a shot can be tough. I have killed them over 50 pounds and have killed black ones too. Just donít think thatís the only one because its not.
