On the morning of 4-12-2010 I was set up on a roosted gobbler, i had watched the afternoon before. It was about 6:30am when i heard him gobble. I looked in the direction and saw him in the top of an oak tree. He gobbled 13 times before flying down in the field at 6:45am, 75 yards in front of me. After the bird had closed the distance to 54 yards something in the field spooked him. i knew i had to shoot, so i put the tru glows on my 3 1/2 ulti-mag on the neck and shot, the bird hit the ground! He was the second double bearded bird i have harvested in two years. He had a 11 7/8' beard and a 9 1/2' beard. he weighed 23lbs. and 1' spurs.
