    Upstate National Hunting & Fishing Day Celebration 2010

    On Saturday, September 25, 2010, from 9 am. to 3 pm., the Fourth Annual 2010 National Hunting and Fishing Day celebration will be held at Duke Energy's World of Energy in Seneca, SC. This family event is designed to celebrate those who enjoy the outdoors and encourage others to get outside. All events are free.
    The event is a partnership between Duke Energy, Upstate Forever, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Clemson University 4-H Shooting Sports, Trout Unlimited, Clemson Extension 4-H, South Carolina Wildlife Federation, Harry Hampton Wildlife Fund, the Weatherby Foundation, Calm Water Kayak Tours, and Sunrift Adventures.
    Visitors will participate in more than 20 outdoor activities and experts will be on hand to demonstrate various activities including: Air Rifle Shooting, Archery, Fishing, Butterfly Exhibit, Butterfly Gardening, Camo Games, Fly Casting and Fly Tying, Fishing Simulator Game, Kayaking, Wildlife Artifacts (Snakes and Critters), Retriever Demonstrations, and much more to include exhibits hosted by conservation organizations.
    Expected conservation organizations include: Clemson Extension and 4-H, Trappers’ Association, Foothills Trail, Clemson University Student chapter of the SC Wildlife Society, Clemson University Student Society of American Foresters, US Forest Service, Friends of Lake Keowee Society, Oconee County Beekeepers Association, Keep Oconee Beautiful, Collegiate Ducks Unlimited, Upstate Forever, Oconee County Parks, Recreation and Tourism, Devil’s Fork State Park, South Carolina Wildlife Federation, and the Palmetto Conservation Foundation.
    All activities and parking are completely free with a shuttle service provided from the event parking area off SC Highway 130. Guests can bring their own picnic lunches or purchase food from the on-site vendor.
