2026 gator season begins Sept. 12

Hunters hoping to receive a gator tag for South Carolina’s 2026 season must have their applications in by July 15.

This year’s alligator season will run from noon on Sept. 12 until noon on Oct. 10.

The best way to apply is by using the GoOutdoorsSC app, or by visiting gooutdoorssouthcarolina.com.

Applications require a $10 non-refundable fee, and resident applicants who are selected will incur another $100 charge. Non-residents will have additional charges as outlined in SCDNR’s regulations booklet. ■
