Lancaster, S.C. huntress kills monster buck

Monster buck weighed 200 pounds, had massive antler rack

My name is Krystal Clark and I shot this monster buck Saturday Nov. 21 in Lancaster, SC with my .25-06 Browning. He’s by far the biggest I’ve ever killed out of 31 years of hunting. I’m 36 and have been hunting with my daddy ever since I was 5-years-old.

Daddy guessed the deer would weigh 180, taxidermist said 190. And I couldn’t believe my eyes when the scales said 200 pounds!!!

It was getting close to dark, and I figured my hunt was over because I would be getting down in about 10 minutes. I looked through the scope across the field and didn’t see anything. And as soon as I looked again with my bare eyes, I saw his big body and horns coming out of the wood line. He was steadily walking across the field near the wood line.

I put the crosshairs on him and got where it needed to be and squeezed the trigger. BAM! He dropped in his tracks. I looked through the scope again to make sure I dropped him and he was still there. And all I could see was horns!!!

I called my parents and my daddy answered the phone and I said “I killed big boy!!!”

They brought the truck and we loaded him up. I don’t know who was happier, my daddy or me, lol. My daddy taught me everything I know about hunting and he sadly has Parkinson’s now and can’t climb anymore. So it was pretty special that he was there to help me load my biggest buck and really a buck of a lifetime!
