The first monthly Bass Photo Contest voting session is set to begin on Friday May 6 and will run for three days through Sunday May 8. Winners will determined by our site users, who will choose from a selection of photos entered during April.

Anyone can participate in the voting! After entries are voted on by our users, the monthly winner will receive a free one-year magazine subscription and a $25 gift coupon to the Outdoor Store good for all manner of Official Sportsman Gear.

Hannah Raines of Aiken caught her 7-pound 5-ounce bass on a Zebco 33 reel while fishing with her father on a farm pond on 4/9/11. They had caught several small bass and were about to break for lunch when her junebug worm was inhaled by the big bass who fought so hard that she was barely able to turn the reel handle. She was overjoyed to tell all the boys at school about her big bass.

Will Howell of Florence caught his big bass in a neighborhood pond while fishing with a chatterbait. The bass were on their beds and he caught an 8-pounder only minutes before making this photo with his 10-pound big bass.

Jenn Bidgood of Clarendon County made up for losing an 8-pound bass last summer by catching this lunker this spring while fishing in Manning. Ritt Ritter let Jenn and her husband fish in his bass pond and when the big fish hit she wanted to pass the rod to her husband, but he declined to take it. She went on to catch this big bass, which is her best ever and she calls it 'Bertha.'

Ryan Robertson of York was fishing in Rock Hill with his son Matthew, age 6, when he landed this big bass. "I put him back in the pond and hope this is just one of many yet to come for me and my favorite fishing buddy this summer," said Robertson.

Only registered users of are eligible to win these contests. Anyone can enter their photos on the contest gallery, but only registered users will be selected by the Sportsman staff to compete in the voting.
