As we have reported, 15 of our state parks suffered damage from Hurricane Matthew and are currently closed. The good news is, we hope to have the majority of these parks open and welcoming visitors within the next week. Our coastal parks were hardest hit. We are working diligently at Myrtle Beach State Park and Huntington Beach State Park to make repairs and open these two parks by the last week of October.

Unfortunately, Edisto Beach and Hunting Island state parks suffered the greatest damage. It will take months of work before these parks will reopen. We do hope that a portion of Edisto Beach State Park will reopen in late November offering cabin stays and camping opportunities in our Live Oak campground.

If you have pending reservations at any of these parks and need more information, please contact the call center at 1-866-345-PARK (7275) for assistance. Please be patient as we are expecting higher than normal call volume during this period.

As of now, we are in the process of cancelling and refunding reservations at the following parks:

Hunting Island State Park – All reservations are cancelled and refunded through December 2016.

Edisto Beach State Park – All reservations in the beachfront campground are cancelled and refunded through December 2016. All reservations in the cabins and Live Oak campground are cancelled and refunded through November 17, 2016.

Myrtle Beach State Park – All reservations are cancelled and refunded through October 23, 2016.

Huntington Beach State Park – All reservations are cancelled and refunded through October 27, 2016.

Santee State Park – All reservations are cancelled and refunded through October 23, 2016.

Please stay tuned to our website and social media. As openings and changes occur, information will be posted there.

Fall is a fantastic time to get outdoors and visit your parks. We encourage you to take a trip to our Upstate parks or visit some of our parks located along our lakes. We appreciate your concern and thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
