The Jolly Mon King Classic has a history of producing big kings, and last weekend's tournament out of Ocean Isle Beach didn't break the trend. Mark Long, Regina Reep and Elijah Sorensen of Harrells, fishing on the Downtime, won the tournament with a 41.65-pound king that also earned Top Lady Angler honors for Reep.

Downtime fished the first day of the June 14-16 event, then waited through the second day to see if the field of 205 boats would come through with a bigger fish. It didn't.

Lawrence Allen of Raleigh finished second with a 35.30-pound king caught on Hot Rod/Woody, and Joshua Baker of Camden, S.C., took third on the Aqua Loco with a 33.30-pound king that won Top Senior Angler honors for Anthony Ford.

The top small boat in the tournament was the Water Boarder, with Michael Kidd and crew from Holden Beach taking a 27.86-pound fish. Austin Aycock of Shallotte earned Top Junior Angler Honors for the 24.50-pound king caught on the Hail Yeah.

Prizes were also awarded for the largest cobia, dolphin and Spanish mackerel. The Fishing Too, with Capt. Darrell Starnes and crew from Rock Hill, S.C. caught a 33.85-pound cobia to win that category. John Masters of Raleigh and the crew of the Rush Hour caught the largest dolphin at 14.80 pounds. Kenneth Clark of Wilmington and the Never-E-Nuff topped the Spanish mackerel category with a 5.75 pounder.
