The Bag-A-Buck contest is returning to South Carolina Sportsman and for its 10th year, with monthly prizes and a grand-prize for sportsmen who submit photos of deer they take during the coming season.

Winners of four monthly contests – Aug. 15-Sept. 30, Oct. 1-31, Nov. 1-30 and Dec. 1-31 – will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Sportsman’s online store. The grand-prize winner will receive a one-day deer hunt for two persons from Cherokee Ridge Hunting Lodge in Chesterfield County. Winners are drawn randomly from all entries and announced on and in South Carolina Sportsman.

Last year’s grand-prize winner was Chris Lambert, a Gaffney firefighter who entered a Spartanburg County buck he killed on Oct. 18, 2014. 

To enter the contest, you must be a South Carolina Sportsman subscriber and be a registered user on From there, visit the website, click on the Bag-A-Buck contest link, follow the instructions and upload a photo of your deer, and then write a short account of your hunt, including the date when and county where you took your deer.
