A turkey hunting clinic for youths has been scheduled for April 3 in Horry County. The clinic, sponsored by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and Bass Pro Shops, will introduce basic turkey hunting skills needed for a successful hunt, including game care and prep, turkey calling, building turkey blinds, marksmanship, gear and regulations.
The clinic run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and will be open to the first 15 students ages 10 to 17 who contact Lt. Kim Leverich at Leverichk@dnr.sc.gov. SCDNR will confirm your attendance by email with further instructions and the address for the clinic. Respond quickly for a slot as these clinics fill up quickly.
Lunch, door prizes, and game bags will be provided at this event for each participant. Parents are welcome to stay and join in on the fun. Please keep in mind this is a school holiday for some and not for others.
